The scientific session “Reshaping Lipid Management in the Post-Statin Era” focuses on moving beyond sole reliance on statins for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk reduction. The session addresses the need to manage patients with statin intolerance, optimize, and intensify LDL-C lowering using novel non-statin therapies—such as PCSK9 inhibitors and bempedoic acid—to achieve target levels and improve patient prognosis. Moreover, while traditional lipid management strategies target LDL-C, growing evidence underscores the role of additional lipid-related risk factors such as Lp(a). The management of dyslipidaemia during pregnancy is an often-overlooked area which will also be addressed highlighting the need to balance between managing lipid-related risks and the safety of both mother and foetus. Overall, the session aims to broaden clinicians’ perspectives in lipid- related cardiovascular risk management.
